REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Induction CookingWould you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?
Lisa Brinson 4/12/2022 1:43 PMThis was an interesting one... I think there are a lot of factors to consider - including where your electricity comes from & the reliability of our current power grid structure. That being said I have no issues, from a culinary perspective, with cooking via induction. When it comes time to purchase a stove, I will definitely do more research! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Know Your ProduceWhat surprised you about the two produce lists? How will you use these lists for your grocery shopping? Have you used these lists before?
Lisa Brinson 4/08/2022 11:22 AMI have been aware of the lists before, but forget to use them. I have downloaded the PDFs to my phone to help me remember! I found the tips on the "5 Fabulous Finds in the Frozen Food Aisle" link very interesting -- "Thaw wisely - leaving frozen fruit in the refrigerator is best way to reduce enzyme reactions that can destroy nutrients." -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Take 5-Minute Or Less ShowersWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Lisa Brinson 4/07/2022 11:05 AMI plan to be more aware of how much water I use when hand washing pots & pans! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & Equity Cleaning Product IngredientsWhat was surprising about the ingredients in your cleaning supplies, personal care, and pet products?
Lisa Brinson 4/04/2022 12:23 PMThis is an overwhelming category! I started by downloading EWG and am scanning the products that we have in our house.-
Andy Pettit 4/04/2022 1:17 PMI've had limited success with the EWG app's bar code scanner. You may need to search for your products by name or key word.
Let us know if you find any products that you recommend or that you recommend us stop using!

Lisa Brinson 4/04/2022 12:22 PMPracticing a work-life balance will help me create a more sustainable life by giving myself permission to invest time in myself & in learning about sustainability. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Calculate Your Water FootprintWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Lisa Brinson 4/04/2022 12:20 PMI am going to start taking 5 minute showers. I do currently turn the water off while brushing my teeth.
