Sarah Braden 5/02/2022 4:44 PMThanks and so much gratitude to everyone in Denver who joined together this Earth Month. Our collective impact shows that we can change things for the better. I learned a lot from everyone's posts and from the challenges themselves. I hope that we will all continue to grow our sustainable habits and learn more as the year goes on. See you all next Earth Month! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?
Sarah Braden 4/22/2022 10:23 AMInstead of buying rice in plastic bags, I buy bulk rice in a cotton sack and then transfer it to a reusable container at home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodAfter learning more about investing, how can you increase positive impacts and decrease negative impacts?
Sarah Braden 4/22/2022 10:07 AMI was able to change my 401k so that my money is in a Social Index fund. It was difficult through, because the scores on the fund could have been better. I looked at scores on https://fossilfreefunds.org/. My next step is to move my IRA from the bank where it currently is to another bank that has sustainable but also low-fee mutual fund options. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat area of climate action are you most passionate about and why?
Sarah Braden 4/13/2022 10:43 AMI am passionate about marching/protesting. When I was young, my mother and her friend were active in the Sierra Club and protested against coal plant pollution. I'd like to do more communicating with elected officials, but time is limited, so I also donate to organizations. -
Sarah Braden 4/11/2022 2:45 PMHello Denver! We have officially accepted a challenge from Slalom Chicago! It's on! -
Sarah Braden 3/25/2022 7:57 AMHello Denver! Reach out to me, Sarah Meade, or other Green Team leaders if you have questions about the Ecochallenge or just want to chat about sustainability.
