REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Christine Bergholm 4/03/2022 3:33 PMPracticing mindfulness is how I find mental peace in my day. I find more traditional style meditation (sitting and trying not to think) really challenging! My mindfulness practice usually includes trying to put my whole focus on a sensory activity (I.e eating an Orange, hula hooping) and resist letting my thoughts drift elsewhere. I have been practicing some amount of mindfulness every single day for almost a year now, and it’s one of my favorite habits.
This month, I have been practicing a gratitude meditation where I focus on my breathing and noticing things I am grateful for in the present moment. It is helping me to maintain a more positive outlook even on more challenging days.
