REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsWhat area of climate action are you most passionate about and why?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/15/2022 11:11 AMI am most interested in ocean conservancy, especially as it relates to over fishing. Ever since I was a kid I have loved and been fascinated by the ocean. Over fishing has the ability to destroy ecosystem which can have long term deleterious effects on our environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEducation & LivelihoodAfter learning more about investing, how can you increase positive impacts and decrease negative impacts?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/12/2022 11:49 AMI learned about some non-profit organizations and what they are doing. There are opportunities for both donating and investing. I am very interested in investing in organizations that do climate change and other social justice activities. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & CommunitiesWould you consider using an induction cooking surface? If you have used one before, what do you like about induction cooking?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/12/2022 11:45 AMI have a gas stove at home and have been using an induction stove this week which has worked great. I didn't realize the issues with using natural gas. We probably consume quite a bit with cooking and with gas fire places. Maybe can be more limited with use. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWith 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/12/2022 11:43 AMRight now I am just going to keep my showers under 5 min. My next step is to help the others in my family do the same. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & EcosystemsHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place? Was there a new place in your region that was exciting to learn about and visit?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/12/2022 11:41 AMI am currently on spring break and I have spent every minute I can outdoors exploring and enjoying the natural beauty. I am in the Caymans and have been learning about live both on the land and in the sea -
Jeffrey Avansino 4/02/2022 10:56 AMI joined the challenge to support our periop team, our environment and the people who live in it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth & EquityWhat was it like to practice mindfulness? If this is a practice for you already, what was something new you understood in practicing during Earth Month?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/02/2022 10:55 AMI have been doing practicing mindfulness for a long time and it is incredibly valuable. It helps one to connect more to the world around them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & SecurityWhat benefits does the sharing economy offer to you and others? If you are a little shy to try, what could be a first step for you?
Jeffrey Avansino 4/01/2022 9:28 PMI haven't thought a lot about sharing economy but realize we are doing this to some extent and will start looking for more opportunities.
