While it was difficult at times to check in, I felt that  it did bring an overall awareness to the issue that we are trying to help fix.

What plastic or single-use items do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted?

I regularly used a lot of Tupperware, so I've been cycling out the plastics i use and replacing them with glass containers, along with other single use plastics such as straws. I ordered some silicone reusable straws and they have been great to use, as I make a lot of smoothies.

Nicholas, I also try to only use glass tupperware. One thing that I really have found to make a big difference is investing in reusable ziplock bags rather than the single use plastic ones!

I volunteered this weekend at the Earth day event at the Park by my house in marina! It was a lot of fun too. As it was close, me and my room mates decided to walk there too.

for the carbon impact in our apartment, I switched our old incandescent lights in things like the bathrooms or closets to newer environmentally friendly LEDs which use less power. I also am replacing plastic goods with eco friendly alternatives. for example, my plastic dish scrubber wore out and i replaced it with a bamboo and recycled fiber scrubber, same for my shower scubbers etc.

I just had to replace a few bulbs in my kitchen and I was overwhelmed at Home Depot trying to figure out what I needed! I wonder if there is a recycling program in Monterey for lightbulbs and other materials that would be dangerous to just throw away.
