REFLECTION QUESTIONEconomy & Communities Find out where your energy comes fromWhere does the energy in your region come from? Which energy is a renewable source?
Kyle Abel 4/14/2022 11:30 AMSadly, less than 25% of Texas's power is supplied by renewable sources. Thankfully, our electric provider, CoServ, offers 100% solar-powered energy for a tiny premium which we take advantage of! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONClimate & Ecosystems Calculate Your Carbon ImpactWhat is one way you will reduce your carbon foorprint? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your carbon footprint?
Kyle Abel 4/08/2022 12:31 PMTo reduce my carbon footprint, I will eat less meat and dairy each week. I will look into purchasing monthly carbon offsets. I also plan on purchasing an electric vehicle when the time comes to replace vehicles.-
Helena Lam 4/13/2022 1:51 PMthis is awesome Kyle! I have also been working on eating less meat and dairy as well. Reputable carbon offsets typically are verified/certified so go with those!

REFLECTION QUESTIONBasic Needs & Security Support A Renters Bills of RightsWhat was something important you learned about renter rights and affordable housing?
Kyle Abel 4/07/2022 6:15 AMThe people most likely to be renters - younger, lower-income, less wealthy - are the ones that need the most grace with delinquent payments and economic hardships. Yet landlords often take hardline stances in contracts and practice, which can make it hard or impossible for renters to climb the economic ladder.-
Helena Lam 4/08/2022 8:45 AMcouldn't agree more!
